A Detailed Tutorial on the Use of Manual Butt Welding Machine

Manual butt welding machine is suitable for PE, PP, PVDF pipes and pipes, pipes and fittings hot-melt welding in construction sites and trenches. It can also be used in the workshop. It consists of four parts: frame, milling cutter, independent heating plate, bracket of milling cutter and heating plate.


1. The features of the manual butt welding machin


The heating plate of manual butt welding machine adopts independent temperature control system and PTFE surface coating. It adopts new electric milling method with the functions of single and double-sided milling. The milling blade is made of high-quality tool steel, which is designed with double blades and can be used on both sides. The main matrials for frame is aluminum alloy, which is convenient to use, simple structured and with small size. It can be operated by a single person and is suitable to use under complicated conditions.


2. Notes for using manual butt welding machin


When using manual butt welding machine, you need to connect the oil pipe, electric heating plate cable and milling cutter power cord first, then plug in the main power cord, turn on the main power switch on the left side of the chassis, and hydraulic motor switch. Set the heating temperature at 220℃ through control switch and turn on the heating switch. 


Fix the pipes to be butted on the clamps of the butt fusion welding machine. The gap between the two pipes should be suitable to fit the milling cutter disc. Put on the milling cutter disc and mill the butt ends flat. It should be noted that you should start the milling cutter first, and then start the oil cylinder to advance slowly. It is recommeded to adjust the cutting pressure from small to large value until the oil cylinder moves slowly. It should be noted that the cutting pressure should not be greater than 3Mpa. When continuous cutting occurs, you need to remove the milling cutter disc. Adjust the locking force exerted by the clamps to align two joints, so that the misalignment is not more than 10% of the wall thickness.  


When the heating plate reaches the set temperature, place the heating plate between the two ends of the clamps. Press and hold the hydraulic switch "Enter", and press both ends of the two pipes to the electric heating plate for heating. When the two ends are pressed to reach the corresponding flanging, release the switch and keep the heat absorption state. After reaching the heat absorption time, press the hydraulic switch "Back" and retreat to oil cylinder. After taking out the electric heating plate quickly, press the "Enter" immediately, so that both ends accept the pressure until a flanging of about 3mm appears, and then immediately release the button. After it cools down to ambient temperature, remove the clamps.
